The first two times your grades fall
below 2.0, you receive an Academic Warning. The next time it happens, you are
on Academic Probation. If you fail again to make a GPA of at least 2.0, you are
on Academic Suspension.
If you find yourself on academic
probation, you're not alone. About 20% of students who attend a four/five-year
course will be on academic probation at some point.
Academic probation is a temporary,
12-month status. When you are on probation you must achieve an average of at
least 60%, with no failures, on all courses taken during the probation period.
TO PANIC OR TO BE AT PEACE?
It's not a new norm to see students
panic here and there once results are released, however, it's advisable to be
at peace for now and these are the few reasons:
✅ The statement of result is back on the support site BUT with
ONLY old results, 2021_2 downwards
✅ The site and the results you'll see are still prone to
errors, hence you might see courses you've done successfully as outstanding and
so on. To sort these issues, you can send a complaint via the support platform
or simply wait for at least a week till all results are uploaded for all
students and the site is stable. Mistakes would have been sorted by then.
✅ You'll still see elective courses as outstanding. This is
yet to be well understood if it mean to be rewritten or that it's just a
reflection of all courses for each level. Just be at peace.
✅ The site is still unstable. A lot of students details are
yet to be uploaded. The least you can do is do what you can for now and hold on
on those not going through, as far as you've done what you are supposed.
To be at peace or to choose panic is
an individual choice but please don't spread your panic to others and grow
resentment if they ignore you.
Follow the simple instructions and do
what you can. Only ask for help when you come across something contrary from
the instructions.
