NAUS LAGOS STATE LEADERSHIP PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO SSA ON STUDENTS UNION AFFAIRS, SEEKS GREATER COLLABORATION
The National Association of University Students, Lagos State Chapter [NAUS Lagos State] has paid a courtesy visit to the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Students Union Affairs at his office.
The visit, led by the NAUS Lagos State Chairman, Comr. Osodein Mathew Dolapo, was aimed at formally introducing the new administration to the SSA, appreciating him for his continuous support to students’ welfare, and presenting the association’s proposal for the new tenure.
In attendance were the Vice Chairman, Deputy General Secretary, Treasurer, and Director of Special Duties of NAUS Lagos State.
Speaking during the visit, Comr. Osodein expressed gratitude to the SSA and requested that the new administration be carried along in government activities, in line with other student associations in the state.
Responding, the SSA warmly welcomed the NAUS Lagos leadership and charged them to uphold unity and cooperation. He further encouraged the association to work in synergy with other apex student bodies such as NANS Lagos and NULASS National to strengthen the student movement in Lagos.
The SSA also gave key directives to the association, including:
1. Mobilizing students across Lagos institutions to register for their Permanent Voter’s Card [PVC] and actively participate in the forthcoming elections.
2. Writing a formal letter to the Honourable Commissioner for Education to request a courtesy visit, noting that the letter should be submitted urgently to be attached alongside that of NANS Lagos for a joint audience.
3. Maximizing the first six months in office, stating that “this is your year to reign” and that strategic engagement within this period will be critical to securing an Official Bus for NAUS Lagos State.
He concluded by urging all executives to return to their respective institutions and ensure they maintain strong leadership at the campus level.
NAUS Lagos State appreciates the SSA for his fatherly counsel, open-door policy, and commitment to the advancement of student affairs in Lagos State.
Signed:
NAUS LAGOS EXECUTIVES
