I want to clear the air regarding elective courses and their importance in your academic journey.
📌 Key Points on Electives:
✅ Every student is expected to register at least ONE elective per semester.
✅ Some students have no electives—don’t worry, this is completely fine.
✅ If you have just ONE elective, you must register for it compulsorily.
✅ If you have 2 or 3 electives, you can pick 1 elective depending on the total number of units for your core courses..
✅ If you have 4 or 5 electives, you can pick 2 or 3 electives, again depending on the total number of units for your core courses.
📌 Unit Limitations & CGPA Consideration:
* You cannot register more than 24 units per semester.
* If registering all available electives and core courses keeps you within 24 units, and you have the financial means and academic capacity to excel, it’s advisable to do so—it can help boost your CGPA.
* However, if you’re not sure you can pass all your electives, do not register more than 2.
📌 If you don’t have any electives, you have no issues. Just focus on your core courses!
