APPEAL FOR THE FULFILMENT OF THE PROPOSED AIRSTRIP PROJECT IN IGBETI/OTU AXIS TO ADDRESS SECURITY CHALLENGES IN NORTHERN OYO STATE
Your Excellency,
I write with deep respect and a strong sense of responsibility as a concerned youth and indigene of Igbeti in Olorunsogo Local Government Area of Oyo State, to passionately appeal for the fulfilment of your administration’s promise regarding the proposed airstrip project in the Igbeti/Otu axis of Northern Oyo State.
Your administration has consistently demonstrated commitment towards infrastructural development, economic growth, and the protection of lives and properties across the state. The proposed airstrip remains one of the visionary projects capable of transforming the security architecture and socio-economic condition of the northern region of Oyo State.
Presently, communities within Olorunsogo, Orire, Orelope, Saki East, Saki West, Atisbo, and other neighbouring areas are facing increasing security threats ranging from kidnapping, illegal activities, and attacks on students, farmers, and travelers. The vast landmass and difficult accessibility of many rural communities have made rapid security response very challenging for conventional security agencies.
The establishment of the proposed airstrip in Igbeti/Otu will greatly assist in:
Enhancing aerial surveillance and rapid security response across the northern corridor of Oyo State;
Supporting the operations of security agencies in combating criminal activities;
Improving emergency and disaster response mechanisms;
Promoting agricultural, mineral, and commercial investments within the region;
Creating employment opportunities and boosting local economic development.
Your Excellency, the people of Northern Oyo State strongly believe that this project will not only serve as an infrastructural milestone but also as a strategic security intervention capable of restoring confidence, peace, and stability within our communities.
I therefore humbly appeal to your good office to kindly revisit and expedite necessary actions towards the actualization of the proposed airstrip project for the benefit of the people and the overall security advancement of Oyo State.
We remain confident in your leadership capacity and your unwavering commitment to the welfare and development of every part of Oyo State.
