The Director of Humanitarian Affairs and Charity Advocacy, NANS Senate Secretariat, Comrade Abasifreke Sunday Ekanem, alongside her team, embarked on a series of strategic familiarization, consultation, and advocacy visits aimed at strengthening institutional partnerships and advancing humanitarian service across Akwa Ibom State.
The first engagement was at the College of Health Technology, Etinan, where the delegation was warmly received by the Senate President, the NAAKISS President, the Senate Clerk, and distinguished Senators of the institution. The meeting focused on the forthcoming PROJECT INSPIRE 2026, alongside discussions on humanitarian, educational, and health-oriented initiatives designed to improve the welfare, leadership capacity, and overall development of students.
Following productive deliberations, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to establishing a sustainable partnership that will facilitate the successful implementation of PROJECT INSPIRE 2026 and other impactful programmes within the institution.
The delegation, accompanied by the Senate President and the NAAKISS President, also paid a courtesy visit to the Dean of Students Affairs. The meeting was insightful and fruitful, featuring meaningful discussions on student development, leadership, and humanitarian service. At the conclusion of the engagement, the student-friendly Dean officially endorsed PROJECT INSPIRE 2026, commended Comrade Abasifreke Sunday Ekanem for her visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to humanitarian service, and offered prayers for the successful execution of the project.
In continuation of the advocacy tour, the Director and her team paid a strategic familiarization and partnership visit to the Public Relations Officer of the Correctional Centre, Akwa Ibom State Command. The visit was aimed at strengthening institutional relationships and exploring areas of mutual cooperation in advancing humanitarian interventions, advocacy, rehabilitation, and community development initiatives.
The engagement culminated in the successful establishment of a strategic partnership and collaboration between the Directorate of Humanitarian Affairs and Charity Advocacy, NANS Senate Secretariat, and the Correctional Centre, Akwa Ibom State Command. This partnership will create opportunities for impactful humanitarian outreach, advocacy programmes, rehabilitation initiatives, and other projects that will positively impact students, inmates, correctional personnel, and the wider society.
